Political mechanism still working in Kalikot's local bodies

KALIKOT, Jan 9: Even if the government has scrapped the political mechanism saying there was corruption in the local level, it is still working in Kalikot district.



Local Development Officer Indra Raj Basyal who just took charge after a long absence LDO in the district, said he would move ahead with the mechanism.



I will move ahead by coordinating with the political parties as the earlier works too were moved ahead by the political board, he said.



Now the village council meetings are being held for moving ahead development works in the district and VDC secretaries are confused as the political mechanism was scrapped on the eve of the council meeting.



Kalikot VDC Secretary Bhawan Singh Shahi said he would move ahead as per the DDC direction and government directory.



So far, five councils have been completed and 25 are going to be held and sanitation, agriculture and education are expected to get increased investment.
