KATHMANDU, Nov 10: Nepal Police has started market monitoring in the capital to check possible black-marketing due to border blockade and food adulteration during Tihar festival.
Addressing a press meet in Kathmandu on Tuesday, Senior Superintendent of Police Bikram Singh Thapa, chief of Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu, said a monitoring team has been formed under the chairmanship of Assistant Chief District Officer of Kathmandu.
Marketing is heart of any business
The team comprises of representatives from the Department of Commerce, Nepal Police, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Consumers Forum.
"Metropolitan Police Range has devised a strategy to assure general public on security by putting in place strong, reliable and credible security system in the Kathmandu Valley taking into consideration Tihar and Chhath festivals," he added.
