He informed that the team has been on the hunt for five members of Harahang Gang led by Deu Kumar Labung. "We don't think the gang is supported by any political party. It carries out criminal activities on its own," said DSP Koirala.

Locals from Ikhabu, Topethok, Khejenim and Leylep VDCs have been terrified by Harahang, the police claimed. Two weeks ago, the police decided to step up patrolling in those VDCs to provide security to the locals. As per DSP Koirala, the members of Harahang group have already exchange fire during clashes in the past.

Earlier, the police had arrested three members of the gang for possessing weapons, including guns, electric wires, bombs, mobile phones, official documents and national flag.
