Praising the three-member team CIB team sent under DSP Bhupendra Khatri to crack the case, Aryal said the investigations have focused on the motive and modus operandi of the group that carried out the blast. He refused to put a deadline on the investigations but claimed that it would conclude within a week.
Das cremated at Swargadwari
Meanwhile, Dipendra Das Kathbaniya, who breathed his last while undergoing treatment for blast injuries at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) Thursday night, was cremated at Swargadwari Ghat on Saturday.
His body was brought to his village Bengashivapur-4 at 10 Friday night and the funeral procession started from the blast site at Ramananda Chowk Saturday morning.
Locals, activists affiliated to Mithila State Struggle Committee, Mithila Natyakala Parishad and others took part in the funeral procession. They chanted slogans demanding that Das be declared a martyr and his family compensated. His four-year-old son Aman lit the funeral pyre.
His wife Pramila, 30, has frequently been losing consciousness while mother Rani, 62, is yet to come to terms with the loss. Das was the sole breadwinner of his family and his death has left Pramila and his two sons to fend for themselves.
