KASKI, Feb 8: Pokhara, the country's tourism capital, is set to launch "Pokhara Visit Year 2025," aiming to attract two million domestic and international tourists.
Mayor Dhanraj Acharya said that Pokhara Metropolitan City will officially announce the campaign on February 15 at the Pokhara Exhibition Center.
To prepare for the event, authorities have formed a 1,050-member main organizing committee under Mayor Acharya's coordination. They have also established a steering committee led by Acharya, an executive committee representing the tourism sector, and 43 subcommittees.

These committees and subcommittees bring together representatives from government and non-governmental organizations, all four security agencies, business and industrial sectors, media, political parties, local community organizations, rights activists, and civil society.
“We are working tirelessly to make the Pokhara Visit Year announcement a grand success. We are consulting with all stakeholders, and ambassadors from various countries will also take part in the event,” Mayor Acharya said.
As part of the campaign, officials will appoint Pokhara goodwill ambassadors to promote the city internationally.
Throughout the year, organizers will conduct various tourism promotional activities. In collaboration with the Gandaki Provincial Government, Pokhara Metropolitan City will lead a grand cultural rally, showcasing local traditional attire from all 33 wards of the metropolis.
The event, jointly hosted by Pokhara Metropolitan City and the Gandaki Provincial Government, will feature a cultural procession and rally, ensuring representation from all 33 wards. The tourism sector will also participate in a banner-led rally.
Chairperson of the Pokhara Tourism Council, Taranath Pahari, emphasized that Pokhara Visit Year will provide a major boost to the tourism industry, urging all tourism-related organizations to collaborate in making it a success.
