More than 15 poets recited their poems that focused on the long-existing caste-based discrimination in the society and cited the need of integrated intervention to combat the "social disaster." According to the poets, mindset and misinterpretations were the biggest hurdles in the fight against discrimination.

In the recitation program organized by Dignity Initiative, the poets also demanded an end to caste-based discrimination by increasing access of Dalits to policy making level and ensuring their representation in the organs of the state.
