PM Oli pays tributes to Mao

KATHMANDU, March 23: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is on an official visit to China, laid a wreath at the Mao mausoleum at Tiananmen Square in Beijing this morning and paid tributes to the late Chinese leader.

A press statement issued by the Prime Minister's press advisor Pramod Dahal states that Prime Minister Oli also laid a wreath to the Monument of People's Heroes at the same place earlier to this.

The national anthem was played in PM Oli's honor when he reached the Tiananmen Square. Flags of Nepal and China adorned the Square, which is also a famous tourist site.

Also today, PM Oli is scheduled to meet Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at the Great Hall of the People. Thereafter, he will leave for Sanya, Hainan Province following the official programs in Beijing.

He is scheduled to address the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference on the theme of new future, new dimension and new vision, at Boao City on Thursday. RSS
