KATHMANDU, March 27: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the government is committed to concluding the peace process with a victim-centric approach. Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Thursday, he emphasized that Nepal initiated and progressed its peace process independently.

PM Oli maintained that he is solely focused on successfully concluding the remaining tasks of the peace process and that he does not seek credit for it. He stressed the need to heal victims' wounds and ensure lasting peace in Nepal, calling for a consensus among key political leaders, including Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Maoist Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal. According to him, if the three major parties commit to resolving the issue, it would not take much time.
Referring to Nepal's history of conflict, Oli questioned why the country still observes days related to past violence. He labeled the Maoist insurgency a ‘national mistake’.
