After about a month, the photographs will be taken to another place for exhibition. “The exhibition is intended to help promote tourism in the Khumbu area. After the earthquakes, Mt Everest is now safe to travel; we aim to deliver that message,” said Sherpa before flying to Japan on Sunday. He will be talking about the photographs and his experiences at the exhibition.
Born and raised in the touristic village of Namche in Solukhumbu, Sherpa specializes in capturing photos of mountains. Many of his photos have been turned into posters and postcards. Currently he runs a hotel along with a cultural museum in Namche. The photographer is hearing impaired following a sickness in 1979.
