ROSHI, May 20: Nearly eight months after devastating floods and landslides ravaged the BP Highway in Kavre, the road still bears deep scars of destruction. Around 18 kilometers of the Khurkot-Dhulikhel section were washed away in last September's disaster, leaving the stretch exposed and vulnerable as another monsoon approaches.
Vehicles now navigate makeshift tracks carved beside the changed river course. These temporary routes, raised about seven meters, remain at risk of collapsing during heavy rains. Despite traffic resumption efforts, locals and travelers live in constant fear.
