Dr Poudel, a former high-ranking official at Nepal Rastra Bank, had previously served as an economic advisor at the Ministry of Finance.
Kandel, meanwhile, is a former division-chief of Nepal Bank Ltd, while Dr Shrestha is a former general manager of Beema Sansthan, a state-owned insurance company. [break]
“The names of all three candidates have been forwarded to the government from which one will be selected for the post of GM,” a high-ranking PEB official told Republica.
The three names were short-listed from among 10 candidates who had filed applications for the post of DCGC´s GM, which has remained vacant since the retirement of Bhola Prasad Sharma Adhikari a few months ago.
The DCGC currently insures deposits of up to Rs 200,000 parked at various banks and financial institutions.
