Paudel appointed as chief attorney of Lumbini Province

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Khum Kanta Paudel has been appointed the chief attorney of the Lumbini provincial government. Chief Minister of the province, Leela Giri appointed him to the position.

KATHMANDU, Feb 12: Khum Kanta Paudel has been appointed the chief attorney of the Lumbini provincial government. Chief Minister of the province, Leela Giri appointed him to the position.


Newly appointed Paudel is scheduled to take the oath of office and secrecy today itself, said the Secretariat of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of the Province.

According to the existing provisions, the chief attorney of a province takes the oath of office and secrecy before the chief judge of the High Court in the presence of the Chief of the province.


Prior to this, Paudel served as a member of the Law Commission of the provincial government, and a member of the law taskforce. Paudel, who has earned a Master's degree in International Human Rights Law and Sociology, has been engaged as a legal practitioner for 23 years. He also taught Sociology at the Butwal Multiple Campus affiliated with Tribhuvan University.
