The meeting basically focused on current political scenario, consensus and implementation of the three-point agreement and promulgation of the new constitution in the given deadline, Khanal´s personal Assistant Ram Babu Adhikari informed myrepublica.com.

Eight ministers from the coalition government-- Minendra Prasad Rijal, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, Dambar Shrestha, Prem Bahadur Singh, Mahendra Prasad Yadav, Sarvendra Nath Shukla,  Thakur Sharma, and Indra Prasad Dhungel--and UML standing committee member Bharat Mohan Adhikari were present in the meeting.

The 25 political parties representing the Constituent Assembly (CA) also held a meeting to press the major three parties--Unified CPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and UML--to find a way out to present political imbroglio at CA building in New Baneshwar.

The leaders said that the small parties sought the clarifications from the leaders of the big three parties over failing to resolve the present political deadlock.

Maoist vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai said that the PM´s resignation is needed to pave the way for consensus among parties.

"The PM should tender his resignation rather than carry it in his pocket," Bhattarai said after the meeting.

"The small parties asked to seek consensus among the big three parties and resolve the political deadlock hovering over the country," NC Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Paudel said.

"Peace and constitution are the prime issues at the present, the issues including the PM´s resignation are the minor ones," Paudel said to reporters.

UML chairman Jhala Nath Khanal who was also in the meeting said," Budget is essential for everyone so parties should resolve the contentious issues and let the parliament promulgate the budget."

Chairman of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) Upendra Yadav said," The Prime Minister should step down to pave the way for national consensus." He also said that promulgation of the budget from the present government is not acceptable.

Meanwhile, UML chairman Khanal called a 13-party meeting at the UML party office in Balkhu, Khanal´s PA Adhikari informed.
