The Committee has put forth five different demands including the reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu state in the constitution.
Markets, industries and educational institutions have closed down while the vehicles leaving for long and short routes have also remained off the road.
The agitators have been staging protests from early morning in the busy areas of the town.
The District Police Office said that the agitators have smashed the windows of two trucks in Birgunj. RSS
