KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The meeting of parliament was postponed on Sunday afternoon after it failed to meet quorum.
As per the parliament regulation, presence of 149 lawmakers is mandatory to commence business.

Only, 124 lawmakers were present at the today’s meet.
The next meeting has been slated for Monday.
Earlier, the meeting of Legislature-Parliament started at 1 pm amidst sloganeering from lawmakers of parties associated with United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF).
Speaker Onsari Gharti continued the proceeding despite obstruction from the lawmakers.
Speaking at the special hour, lawmakers slammed the government on adding ministers ignoring plights of quake survivors.
Lawmakers from ruling parties also criticized the government saying that it is yet to kick off works of resettlement and reconstruction while victims are dying of cold.
They further denounced the government for expanding cabinet breaching the provision of the constitution.
Before the special hour, Minister for Home Affairs Shakti Basent briefed the House on Janakpur incident.
On Wednesday, speaker Gharti has directed the government to inform the parliament on the insult against President Bidya Devi Bhandari during her visit to Janaki Temple in Janakpur.
At the House meeting, the lawmakers had objected to the insult against the president, seeking a stringent against the guilty.
