Over 30,000 register for Yoga Camp

KATHMANDU, March 13: With two weeks still remaining for the start of a Yoga Camp to be run by Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev in Kathmandu, more than 30,000 poeple have registered to participate in the event. The camp starts March 26 and the organizers expect 50,000 participants including those from India.



This will be Ramdev´s second Yoga camp in Kathmandu. From March 27, Ramdev´s disciple Acharya Balkrishna will run the camp till April 1. The camp has two messages: Do Yoga, Be Healthy, and Healthy Nepal, Healthy World.



The camp will see free health session for participants. "Ayurvedic experts from Ramdev´s Patanjali Yogapeeth will run the health session," the chairman of the organizing committee Upendra Mahato told myrepublica.com. "Only healthy Nepalis can make Nepal better."



He also said that the yoga camp want to promote the natural herbs found in Nepal. "There is plenty of herbs, but we have not been able to exploit their availability which will help Nepalis health wise and economically," Mahato said.



On March 20, a grand procession has been planned to welcome the swami and his disciple. A motorcycle rally is slated for March 22.



Camp coordinator Shaligram Singh said those who had participated in the first camp and those disabled can join the present camp for free.
