The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Mahato, 38, a permanent resident of Sabaila VDC in Dhanusha district, who was involved in the trade of construction materials in Jiri bazaar.
The house already dilapidated in the recent earthquake belonged to Nurbu Sherpa of Jiri Municipality. Mahato was living as a tenant in the house.
Rajan Mahato, son of Mahesh, who was also in the house, escaped unhurt. However, Keshar Kari of Jiri-5 and Shyam Shrestha of Phasku VDC were buried in the house and injured. Injured Keshar and Shyam are undergoing treatment at Jiri Hospital, said police.
Sub Inspector at the Area Police Office, Jiri, Prem Karki, said that the body of Mahato has been sent to his home district Dhanusha following the necessary legal procedures. RSS
