The 35-year-old was killed when a truck (Na 2 Kha 39) en route to Bagdula of Pyuthan from Bhairahawa struck his motorcycle heading to Darbang from Baluwang of the district at 7:00 pm.
His pillion rider Bhupendra Mahara, the district representative to NC General Convention, was critically injured in the mishap. He was rushed to a Nepalgunj hospital and later referred to Lucknow, India for further treatment.
Police have impounded the truck and detained the driver.
