Odisha govt sets up 24/7 help desk for KIIT students' welfare

The Odisha government’s Higher Education Department has established a 24/7 help desk to assist students of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) following the tragic death of a student, Prakriti Lamsal. The initiative aims to ensure students' safety, assist in their return, and safeguard their academic interests.

KATHMANDU, Feb 27: The Odisha government’s Higher Education Department has established a 24/7 help desk to assist students of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) following the tragic death of a student, Prakriti Lamsal. The initiative aims to ensure students' safety, assist in their return, and safeguard their academic interests.


The office order, issued recently by the Special Secretary of the Higher Education Department, designates Sri Kali Prasanna Mohapatra, IAS, Director of Higher Education, as the Nodal Officer. He will be assisted by Dr Rajata Manasingh, Deputy Director.


A nine-member team will manage the help desk round the clock. Affected students and parents are encouraged to seek assistance via the following contacts:
