NT joins Bagmati Cleanliness Campaign as part of anniversary celebrations

KATHMANDU, Jan 30: Nepal Telecom today joined the Bagmati River cleanliness campaign as a part of the celebrations of the Company's 12th anniversary. Around 200 Company employees joined the campaign that entered the 142nd Week today. Around 12 tonnes of garbage was collected from the river in front of Baneshwor Campus.

The Company is celebrating its 12th anniversary on February 5.Ten diplomats including European Union Ambassador Rensje Teerink attended the event. Ambassador Teerink handed over gloves, boots, masks, picks and basket used for collecting garbage to Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development Deependranath Sharma.

Company Managing Director Buddhi Prasad Acharya provided cleanliness devices to the Ministry. On the occasion, Managing Director Acharya announced to construct a toilet at Kalmochan Ghat, Teku to help keep the river clean. The Company has been requested to construct a park on the river bank too, according to Secretary Sharma.

The Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel too joined the cleanliness Campaign that started on May 18, 2013 at the initiative of the then Chief Secretary Leelamani Poudyal. RSS
