KATHMANDU, April 26: Samriddhi Gyawali, Managing Director of Nepal Republic Media (NRM), stated that NRM has been contributing to the protection of the federal democratic republic and the country's economic progress through quality journalism and social responsibility.

She shared this view during the ‘Nagarik Nayak 2082’ announcement ceremony held on Saturday to mark the 17th anniversary of the media house.

“We are Nepal’s youngest media house, but we are built on over three decades of experience. Our voice is among the most influential and respected in Nepal,” Gyawali said.

She highlighted that the media house carries a proud history of contributing to the establishment of the federal democratic republic and remains committed to safeguarding the system for every Nepali citizen.

She also expressed pride that NRM is the only media house in Nepal to form an international partnership with The New York Times to bring world-class journalism to Nepali readers.

Similarly, she noted that as the only media company listed on the Nepal Stock Exchange, NRM has maintained transparency and accountability.
“Our structure, which includes an audit committee, a risk management committee, and an assets and liabilities committee, upholds the highest standards of journalism,” Gyawali added.

The media has not only focused on quality journalism but has also emphasized creating an environment for Nepal’s economic growth. Through initiatives like ‘Ma Nagarik, ma banauchu Nepal’ (I am a citizen, I will build Nepal), it has prioritized the voices of youth and worked to integrate them into the economy. Likewise, it has collaborated with international experts and media outlets to highlight the climate crisis.

The 'Nagarik Nayak' program has been honoring Nepali citizens who have overcome extraordinary challenges and emerged as role models for society and their communities.
