NPC Vice Chairman Shrestha off to China

KATHMANDU, July 8: Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC) Min Bahadur Shrestha has left for China to participate in the Global Forum on Development.

KATHMANDU, July 8: Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC) Min Bahadur Shrestha has left for China to participate in the Global Forum on Development.


To participate in the first high-level Global Forum on Development in Beijing, China, Shrestha left for China on Saturday.

Ministerial level representatives of 20 different countries are participating in the forum. The program will be attended by world famous economist Jeff Schaaf as well as organizations like International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).


The participating countries in the forum have a program to discuss various agendas for world development. Vice Chairman Shrestha is scheduled to address the forum representing Nepal.


On Sunday, there will be a meeting between China International Development Cooperative Agency (CIDCA) Vice-Chairman Deng Boqing and the Vice- Chairman Shrestha at Beijing Friendship Hotel. On Monday, the vice chairman is scheduled to participate in the formal ceremony of the forum and hold an interview.


On Tuesday, there will be a formal meeting with Vice Chairman Shrestha and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. On the same day night, Vice Chairman Shrestha will return to Nepal.
