"The election of a new Prime Minister and a new Government after the promulgation of the Constitution is a manifestation of Nepal’s commitment to democratic development, peace and prosperity," the Royal Norwegian Embassy here stated in a press release today.
Norway encourages the new leadership to ensure a peaceful and inclusive implementation of the Constitution to secure Nepal’s future social and economic development and needed reconstruction efforts, it is stated.
Meanwhile, the UK Minister of State for Asia, Hugo Swire has congratulated PM Oli on behalf the British government.
“On behalf of the British Government, I send my congratulations to Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli on his election as Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. The United Kingdom and Nepal share 200 years of friendship and we will remain a steadfast partner for Nepal as it continues to rebuild following the devastating earthquake on 25 April.
