NOC staff halt supplies fuel nationwide

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 25: The staff of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) on Wednesday have stopped supplying petroleum products from all depots across the country protesting the arrest of four high-ranking officials of the corporation by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).



The CIAA arrested NOC Acting Executive Director Suresh Kumar Agrawal, Director Nagendra Sah, Managers Kamal Prasad Sharma and Netra Prasad Kafle alleging that they have distributed bonus among the staff members. [break]



The unions of the corporation have stopped the fuel supply from all the depots nationwide following the collective decision made by the meeting of the Rastriya Karmachari Sangathan, Karmachari Sangh and Karmachari Union held in Kathmandu this morning.



“The supply has been stopped following the decision of the three unions’ meeting today,” Regional head of the NOC Jagarnath Ghimire said.
