KATHMANDU, April 15: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) gained 27.14 points on Tuesday, the first trading day of the Nepali Year 2082 BS.
The secondary market added around 16 points during the pre-opening session. In the main trading time, the index plummeted as low as 2,670.36 points in the first 35 minutes. It then enjoyed an upward graph and reached the day’s high at 2,704.53 points when the trading period was left for only an hour. The market then shed around 15 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Two groups trading and mutual funds lost 29.70 points and 0.01 points respectively. Of the 11 gainers, the development bank gained the highest of 133.25 points, while non-life Insurance, hotels and tourism and life insurance also succeeded in gaining three-digit points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added 4.07 points. Daily turnover amount inclined to Rs 8.54 billion from Rs 6.28 billion on Sunday. The government had declared a public holiday on Monday to mark Nepali New Year 2082.
Among the individual companies, 212 were gainers while 34 were registered as losers. Balephi Hydropower Limited had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 2.01 billion.
Corporate Development Bank Limited, Green Development Bank and Saptakoshi Development Bank, by adding 10 percent in their market values, were recorded as the topmost gainers. Balephi Hydropower Limited lost the highest of 9.69 percent.
