KATHMANDU, Oct 13: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday rose by 44.25 points following a heavy fall in the past few days.
The secondary market opened at 2,503.35 points and plunged to the day’s low at 2,479.36 points in the first 10 minutes. Following a series of fluctuations, the market went into steady growth after one and a half hours of trading. Overall, the market surged by 1.76 percent.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
All the 13 groups were the gainers. While life insurance gained the highest of 233.82 points, a total of six groups added three-digit points in their indices.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, added 5.14 points. The daily turnover, however, declined to Rs 4.97 billion from Rs 6.70 billion.
Among the individual companies, 200 were gainers while 44 were recorded as losers. NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited had the largest turnover of its shares, worth Rs 319.10 million.
Three companies, including Nepal Micro Insurance Company Limited, Nepal Reinsurance Company Limited and Crest Micro Life Insurance Limited, gained the highest of 10 percent. Corporate Development Bank Limited had the largest fall of 5.26 percent of its market price.
