KATHMANDU, Jan 8: The domestic share market posted a marginal gain on Thursday, with the benchmark NEPSE index rising by 4.59 points to close at 2,640.54 points.
Among the traded sub-indices, finance, investment, microfinance, mutual fund, trading and others recorded gains, supporting the overall market performance.

Out of the total listed companies, share prices of 129 companies increased, while 115 companies declined and 15 remained unchanged. Sanvi Energy Limited emerged as the top gainer of the day, with its share price surging by 8.16 percent. On the losing side, Super Madi Hydropower recorded the highest decline, shedding 3.90 percent.
The market witnessed a total turnover of Rs 4.90 billion. In terms of transaction volume, SY Panel Nepal led the chart with shares worth over Rs 200 million traded.
Similarly, Bandipur Cable Car, Sanvi Energy, and Sagar Distillery recorded transactions worth Rs 176 million, Rs 158.9 million, and Rs 150.3 million, respectively, according to NEPSE.
