Nepalis can travel to India as usual without any restriction: India

KATHMANDU, March 12: Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Thursday made it clear that normal travel of Nepali nationals to India, either by air or by existing land routes will not have any sort of impact.

KATHMANDU, March 12: Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Thursday made it clear that normal travel of Nepali nationals to India, either by air or by existing land routes will not have any sort of impact.



Releasing a press statement on Thursday, the Embassy stated that the existing travel arrangements for Nepali nationals will, in other words, remain unaffected.

A day after Indian government imposed restrictions on entry into India as all suspending the visas, the statement of the confirmed that the primary intention is to ensure the health and safety of both Indian as well as foreign nationals with bare minimum inconvenience to travel and mobility.


These measures can be continuously reviewed depending on the evolving situation, according to the Embassy.


“However, there will be intensified health inspections at all entry points and any traveler, Indian, Nepalese or from third countries presenting COVID-19 symptoms or with recent travel history to one of seven COVID-19 outbreak countries- China, Italy, Iran, Republic of Korea, France, Spain and Germany may possibly be subject to quarantine if so required,” reads the statement.
