KATHMANDU, Sept 4: After showcasing the play 'Abhagini Aama - 2' in France in April this year, Creative Academy School is now participating in the Chekov International Theater Festival in Russia. The festival began on September 5 and the school will be staging their play 'Abhagini Aama - 1' on September 9, three days before the festival concludes.

Both plays have been prepared in coordination with Lok Drishti Theater. The play, based on a rural setting in western Nepal, encapsulates the various cultural aspects of Nepali society. It also features the Gandharvas who move from one place to another, performing for people. In the play, we see how Bishne and his family struggle to survive after his father passes away. The money his mother makes is not enough to feed the family and Bishne is also stopped from giving his final exams as he cannot pay his school fees.

The play has been written and directed by Prem Poudel, director of Creative Academy of Kirtipur. While the play will be performed in Nepali, subtitles in English and Russian languages will be available during the festival for the viewers.
