KATHMANDU, Nov 15: Responding to the reference to Nepal made in a recent joint statement between India and the UK, the government has said that the constitution making is an internal matter of the country and Nepal is capable of handling its internal affairs on its own.

A press statement issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday stated, "Nepal respects the international community’s support and goodwill for peace, stability and prosperity. However, Nepal strongly views that constitution making is an internal matter of the country and Nepal is capable of handling its internal affairs on its own.”

In the joint statement, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and British Prime Minister David Cameron have stressed the importance of a lasting peace and inclusive constitutional settlement in Nepal.
