Nepal Police short of 40,000 personnel: IGP Aryal

DOTI, April 5: There is a lack of 40,000 personnel in Nepal Police throughout the country, according to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Upendrakant Aryal.

During an interaction with local stakeholders, IGP Aryal, who is on his visit to Far-Western region, informed about the shortage of personnel in Nepal Police.Addressing the question about insufficient number of Nepal Police personnel in Doti, IGP Aryal said that the police organization is facing manpower crunch in all districts.

"Now police units are being added and upgraded throughout the country," he said. "There is a need of additional 40,000 police personnel."

Aryal also informed that his organization has already requested the Ministry of Home Affairs for the additional manpower.

A team of top police officials led by IGP Aryal had interacted with local political party chiefs and representatives, right activists and media persons.
