Nepal defeats Malaysia in fourth match of T20 series

The final match of the series will be played on Wednesday.

KATHMANDU, Oct 7: Nepal won the fourth match of the Women’s Twenty20 International Series against Malaysia.



In today’s match held in Malaysia, Nepal defeated the host team by six wickets, leveling the five-match series 2–2.

Earlier, Nepal had lost the first match by three runs, won the second by six wickets and lost the third by 13 runs.


Chasing a target of 112 runs set by Malaysia, Nepal reached the victory mark in 17.3 overs with four wickets remaining. Nepal’s captain, Indu Barma, remained unbeaten on 48 runs off 39 balls, while Rubina Chhetry contributed 23 runs from 23 balls.


For Malaysia, Nur Dania Syuhada, Ainna Hamizah and Mahirah Izzati took one wicket each.


Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Malaysia scored 111 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Mas Elysa top-scored with an unbeaten 56 runs, while Mahirah added 18 and Nur Dania 15.


For Nepal, Kabita Kunwar claimed three wickets, while Puja Mahato and Kabita Joshi took one wicket each. The final match of the series will be played on Wednesday.
