Nepal crashes out of ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers

KATHMANDU, July 18: Nepal’s journey to ICC Cricket World Cup-2016 ended after Jersey defeated Nepal by seven wickets in ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in Ireland on Saturday.

Jersey chased 106-run target posted by Nepal in 16.1 over losing three wickets.  Shakti Gauchan and Paras Khadka took one wicket apiece for Nepal.


Earlier, debutant Siddhant Lohani made 27 runs off 16 balls smashing two six and two fours to lift Nepal to 105 runs in stipulated 20 overs.

Poor batting performance by openers continued as Nepal lost openers Pradeep Airee and Binod Bhandari for two and three runs respectively.

Gyanendra Malla made highest 26 runs for Nepal off 33 balls. Sharad Vesawkar and skipper Paras Khadka made 16 and 11 runs respectively.
