Nepal congratulates Myanmar for successful elections

KATHMANDU, Nov 10: The government has congratulated the people and the government of the union of Myanmar for the successful conclusion of the general elections in the country, which were held on Sunday with the overwhelming participation of the people of Myanmar.

"While expressing happiness over this historic democratic exercise, the government of Nepal believes that the bond of friendship between the peoples and the governments of the two countries based on mutual trust, goodwill and understanding will be further strengthened in the days ahead," read a congratulatory message to the Myanmar government issued by the ministry of foreign affairs on Tuesday.
