The rugged laptop -- ShieldPRO N22A - weighs 2.5 kg and is an easy-to-use model with a range of advanced features to improve reliability, security, impact resistance, battery life and communications and functionality.
“ShieldPRO N22A is an advanced notebook designed to provide professional with uncompromising performance in the harshest environment,” said Arun Raj Shrestha, managing director of International Electronics Concern - the distributor of NEC products in Nepal.
Th tablet PC is proven in durability and toughness surviving through dropping, dunking and extreme temperatures from -20 degree Celsius to 50 degree Celsius. It has a 12.1-inch TFT LCD monitor and a detachable HDD and comes with a fingerprint recognition censor for heightened security.
NEC officials informed that device is priced Rs 400,000. International Electronics Concern targets to sell about 40 units of ShieldPRO N22A this year.
The company also launched ´ExpressCluster X 3.0 series´ software to support non-disruptive failover for virtual machines through reinforces linking function with virtualization software. It supports in detecting failures and automatically transferring operation to a standby server that continues to carry out application, the company said in a statement.
“This software supports non-disruptive failover for virtualization system," David Ooi, the regional director of server hub at NEC Asia Pacific, said adding that accelerated data synchronization and improved management interface are the main features of the software.
Another product launched by company -- MasterScope Invariant Analyzer - is an innovative technique that detects the cause of unexpected failures.
“This system performance software analysis software recognizes system failures and manages trouble shooting for large-scale cloud orientated computing systems at telecom carriers, large corporations and data center operators,” the statement added.
It helps simplify performance analysis which performs automatically without special training or complicated settings.
“We are excited to launch the world´s first such system performance analysis software in Nepal," Ooi said, adding that NEC believes the software solution will become a critical tool in helping companies to monitor computing system failures and manage the trouble shooting for large scale computing systems.
