ANFA issued a press release Thursday and informed that Chandranigahapur of Rautahat and Simara of Bara would jointly host the tournament.[break]
A team of ANFA official led by its president Ganesh Thapa visited both the host districts Thursday and inspected grounds and accommodation facilities for participating teams and match officials.
Altogether 27 teams -- 24 district teams and 3 departmental teams -- have registered for the tournament.
According to ANFA Development Director Sanjeev Mishra, the Nepal Army team is participating for the first time in the national football tournament of women. "Armed Police Force was the first department to form women´s football team and Nepal Police had followed APF. Now, Nepal Army has also registered its women´s team at ANFA," said Mishra.
Ncell, a telecommunications company, had announced a sponsorship deal of Rs 10 million with ANFA on June 13 to support a wide range of activities aimed at developing football in Nepal and sponsorship of National Women´s Football Tournament was one of them.
During the sponsorship announcement ceremony, ANFA President Thapa had said the national women´s tournament would carry cash prizes for the first time and the best womon player would receive awards and attractive prizes.
