KATHMANDU, Dec 16: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to fly party flags at half-mast for three days in mourning for former Kathmandu mayor PL Singh. This decision applies to party offices nationwide.
At an emergency central working committee meeting held on Monday, the party passed a condolence resolution and decided to fly flags at half-mast at all central, provincial, and district offices on December 16, 17 and 18.

Likewise, the party has decided to close the party's central, provincial, and district offices tomorrow (Tuesday).
PL Singh passed away at the age of 85 at 1 am last night at Prakashman Niwas in Chaksibari. His body was kept at the residence until early morning for tributes before being moved to the NC Central Office in Sanepa. Senior leaders, including party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, visited Sanepa to pay their respects.
PL Singh, an aide to Ganeshman Singh, had been residing at the home of Deputy Prime Minister and Urban Development Minister Prakashman Singh. His funeral is scheduled for today and will take place at Lakhtirtha near Kankeshwari Temple in Kathmandu.
Singh had won the local level elections in 2049 BS, becoming the mayor of the then Kathmandu Municipality.
He was unmarried and is survived by his brother and sisters.
