Speaking in the Legislature-parliament meeting in the Constituent Assembly Hall in New Baneshwor in the Capital today, NC leader Deuba, who proposed Prime Ministerial candidacy of NC Chairman Sushil Koirala, said that NC Chairman Koirala's candidacy is a democratic practice and it would help make the country strong and maintain national integrity.
Saying that implementation of the newly promulgated constitution is the need of hour, Deuba asked political party leaders not to doubt whether or not NC Chairman Koirala's candidacy-registration for the post of new PM would not affect unity among the parties.
Likewise, NC Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel, who also seconded the Koirala's candidacy, said that the elections to pick new PM would get a new political course as it is the need to move ahead together for national dignity and welfare.
He also stressed on the need for the political parties to move ahead to build the nation. He added that NC President Koirala fielded his candidacy for the post of new PM to resolve problems that may surface in the course of implementing the new constitution.
Saying that diplomatic maneuver is needed to resolve the problems facing the nation, Poudel said that his party would move ahead in unity with other political parties in case of national issues, regardless of whether his party may win in the PM electing elections. RSS
