POKHARA, August 7: The Nepali Congress (NC) Gandaki Provincial Committee has demanded immediate cancellation of the taxes hiked by the Gandaki province government.
Issuing a statement, the NC Spokesperson Madhav Prasad Bastola (Madhu) drew attention of the government towards the decision that caused additional suffering to people and demanded that last year's tax rate be kept unchanged. “Decisions have been taken against the sentiments of the people, which needs to be immediately amended,” the statement read.

The NC has said that it has taken serious note of the complaints received from the common citizens that the taxes related to transport and land have increased unexpectedly as compared to the previous year in the budget of the Gandaki government for the year 2022/23.
