NC elects new leadership in 10 municipalities in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Feb 3: The Nepali Congress has elected a new leadership at 10 municipalities in the Kathmandu Valley.

The new leadership has been elected through local conventions as part of preparation for the 13th convention of the Nepali Congress, said the NC.

Nawaraj Pudasaini for Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, Shree Krishna Jyoti for Gokaneshwar, Ganesh Koirala for Budhanilkantha, Basanta Basnet for Tokha, Shree Ram Thapa for Tarkeshwar have been elected.

Similarly, Ghana Shyam Giri for Chandragiri, Krishna Ram Shrestha for Kritipur and Mohan Basnet for Dakshinkali have been elected through democratic processes, said NC President of Kathmandu Bhimsen Das Pradhan.


Earlier, Raj Bhai Shrestha and Kedar Manandhar had been elected unopposed for Shankharpura and Nagarjuna municipalities, respectively. As per the NC party statute, seven-member body including president has been elected with two members each from Dalit, Janajati and minority.

Remaining members will be nominated in line with the party statute.
