BIRATNAGAR, July 4: Nepali Congress(NC) mayoral and deputy mayoral candidates have been taking the lead in the race for mayor and deputy mayor of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan city for the last six days.
NC mayoral candidate Bhim Parajuli has secured 7699 votes, compared to 5341 votes garnered by his nearest rival VPN-UML candidate Binod Dhakal.

Likewise, NC deputy mayoral candidate Indira Karki has garnered 6628 votes , compared to 3014 votes obtained by her closest rival Nepal Democratic Forum deputy mayoral candidate .
