According to NC Lahan Municipal Committee Chairman Mahesh Chaudhary, at least 12 persons including Gudiyadevi Khatun were injured in police baton charge.
The injured people have been sent to Lahan Hospital for treatment, police said. The clash took place when the NC cadres were trying to enter municipal office after they rounded various parts of the municipality, said Dhakendra Khatiwada, Police Inspector at Ward Police Office, Lahan.
Some police personnel were also injured when the NC cadres pelted stones at security persons.
The NC cadres have been organizing various protests demanding that the investigation over the irregularities made by Executive Officer of the Municipality Ram Kumar Mahato be made. The NC Municipal committee had padlocked and disrupted activities in the municipality office since October 14.
