The hotel has started operation with 25 rooms, including deluxe and standard rooms. Kishor Pandey, chairman of the hotel, said he was planning to upgrade the hotel into a 100-room resort.
Pandey, who has already spent more than three decades in tourism sector, is quite optimistic about the future of tourism in Nepal. “Some problems like bandas and labor unrest have hit hospitality sector, but they aren´t something that we can´t get rid of,” he added.

The hotel plans to add 25 more rooms within a year and another 50 rooms in the following year. The initial investment in the resort comes around Rs 100 million. It is currently providing employment to 30 persons.
“Constructing a hotel in Nagarkot is a tough job, given the difficult topography in the area,” Pandey said, adding that average construction cost of a room was between Rs 1.5 million to Rs 2 million.
Spread over 28 ropanis, Bhangeri Durbar Resort gets its name from an ancient Rana Palace. One can see remains of the palace on the premises of Nepal Army barracks at Nagarkot.
The hotel offers almost all amenities available at top star hotels in the capitals. All the rooms in the hotel have individual air-conditioners and attached bathroom with bath tub and running hot and cold water.

“We are targeting both domestic clients and foreigners,” Pandey said, adding that he also plans to develop the hotel as a conference destination as it boasts of an auditorium capable of accommodating 80 persons.
The resort has a beautiful garden and two restaurants and a bar. It offers splendid views of snowcapped mountains.
Room tariff at Bhangeri Durbar Resort ranges from $60 to $80 for foreigners and Rs 3,500 to Rs 5,000 for domestic tourists on B&B basis.
