BIRATNAGAR, Jan 22: Declaring her bid as a fight for inclusive democracy and equal representation, Numa Limbu has filed her nomination for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election from Morang Constituency–4 under the banner of the Samabesi Samajbadi Party.
Addressing a press conference in Biratnagar on Wednesday, Limbu said her candidacy is rooted in the continued failure of major political parties to ensure meaningful representation of sexual minorities. She said the formation of a new political party was necessary to advance the agenda of equality, justice, and inclusive democracy.

Calling on mainstream political forces to demonstrate political maturity and solidarity, Limbu urged candidates from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and the Nepali Communist Party to withdraw their nominations and extend support to a third-gender candidate.
The Samabesi Samajbadi Party announced that it has fielded six candidates under the first-past-the-post system and 15 under the proportional representation system for the HoR. The party has also nominated candidates for direct elections in two constituencies of Koshi Province.
