JANAKPUR, Feb 10: Cadres of the ruling Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (Democratic) took to the streets in Janakpur on Wednesday, alleging that thge police shot dead their cadre Nawal Kishor Yadav after his arrest.

Agitating MPRF (D) cadres alleged that police arrested Yadav last Thursday from Janakpur and shot him dead after taking him 25 kilometers east to Balabakhar village. However, police claimed that Yadav died during an encounter in the area.

The MPRF (D) cadres began the agitation accusing the police of killing Yadav in a conspiratorial manner. They have been regularly staging one-hour chakka-jam starting Friday in Janakpur.

On Wednesday, the agitating cadres staged protest for two hours, shouting strong slogans against the police and the local administration. They have announced to continue the protest until the suppression of police against innocent locals is stopped. “Our movement will not stop until police stop excesses against ordinary people,” said MPRF (D) Dhanusha Chairman Uma Shankar Adgariya.

Issuing a press statement, Akhil Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha chief Jaya Krishna Goit also vented anger against the killing of Yadav, who once used to be his cadre. “Local administration has made gross violation of human rights violation in the name of special security plan,” says the press statement.
