In addition to providing accommodation allowance, the government also bears fuel expenses for her to travel 150 km from Kathmandu to Panauti every day.

Local Development Officer of Kavre district Chiranjivi Timilsina and Chief District Engineer Sunil Raj Giri, among others, have also been found misusing government vehicles. The list includes Executive Officer of Banepa Municipality Suresh Dahal and Executive Officer of Panchkhal Municipality Devraj Chaulagain.
Similarly, officials of over a dozen other government offices in the district, such as District Health Office, Drinking Water and Sanitation office, Department of Urban Development and Building Construction office, Education Training Center, among others, have also been found misusing government facilities.
"We hardly get to visit chiefs of the government offices as they always leave for home early," said one of the service seekers. "We are always told that the officers are either busy in meetings at the District Administration Office or the ministry," she said.
Chief secretary Leela Mani Paudel has directed the District Administration Office, Kavre to curb the misuse of government vehicles. He had raised the issue during his recent visit to Kavre. Similarly, the Central Regional Administration Office has also asked the DAO to check misuse of government vehicles, but to no avail.
"We are aware that government vehicles are being misused by administrative officials. We are committed to taking action against such officials," said the assistant chief district officer of Kavre.
According to the DAO officials, leniency of the district traffic police has made it difficult to curb the misuse of government vehicles. However, the police claim they have been monitoring government vehicles. "We have not allowed government vehicles without permit to carry officials to their offices," said Inspector Deepak Khadka of the District Police Office, Kavre.
