Ministry instructs Bir Hospital to operate trauma center

KATHMANDU, July 28: The Ministry of Health and Population urged the Bir Hospital to bring Trauma Center into operation to the earliest.



The ministry has urged the hospital management to run the service saying the infrastructure development of the Trauma Center was already constructed in the hospital premises.[break]



The Government of India provided the financial support for the construction of the center.



The then Prime Ministers of Nepal and India Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Indra Kumar Gujaral jointly laid the foundation stone to construct the center.



Speaking at a programme organised to mark the 122nd anniversary of the hospital in the Capital today, secretary of the ministry Dr. Sudha Sharma said if the hospital delayed any more to bring the service into operation, the ministry will interfere the hospital management to this effect.



The then Prime Ministers of Nepal and India Lokendra Bahadur Chand and Indra Kumar Gujaral jointly laid the foundation stone to construct the center.



The 200-bed center has the goal of providing the model services in SAARC to the patients arrived to take for emergency hospital services.
