Speaking at the felicitation program organized by Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC), Minister Bhandari opined that golf, cricket and football including other adventure sports could promote sports tourism in the Nepal. Bhandari, who is also the advisor of the club, suggested JYC to build a women´s football team.
Club´s patron and senior social activist Ram Lal Shrestha along with other officials felicitated Minister Bhandari at the function.
Nepali boxers to compete in world championship
KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Two Nepali boxers will be participating in the upcoming AIB World Boxing Championship to be held in Milan, Italy from September 1-12.
Dinesh KC and Rajan Shilpakar are heading for Rome on Monday for the 15 days training ahead of the championship. Dinesh will contest in 57 kg category and Rajan will fight in the 75 kg category. Both boxers secured the spot on the basis of their performance in the 5th National Games both had won gold medals.

AIB selected 28 players and five officials from across Asia of which Nepal secured two players and one official´s spot in the tournament. Nepal´s head boxing coach Prachanda Sharma will join Dinesh and Rajan during training and championship. Nepal is participating for the first time since 1994 in the championship.

Darts coaching clinic concludes
KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The first two-day long Nepal National Darts Coaching Clinic concluded on Sunday.
Nepal Darts Association (NDA) organized the clinic to develop the sports and produce darts coaches in the country. General Secretary of the NDA Dinesh Thapa was the instructor of the clinic that trained 26 participants.
Meanwhile, NDA president Chandra Prashad Rijal gave away certificates to the participants.
