KATHMANDU, Feb 18: The US government has communicated its blanket decision to put on hold US-funded projects for 90 days.
In an email sent to Nepal's Ministry of Finance on February 14, the Washington DC-based Millennium Challenge Corporation said the projects under the US-funded 'Millennium Challenge Corporation' (MCC) in Nepal have been temporarily suspended.

The Finance Ministry made public the American communication today. The Government of Nepal had signed an agreement with the US authorities on 14 September, 2017 to implement the MCC project.
The Ministry of Finance has stated that all the payments related to the MCC have been suspended for 90 days as per the executive order of US President Donald Trump dated January 20, 2025.
