DHARAN, July 28: MBBS second year examinations at Dharan-based BP Koirala Memorial Institute of Health Sciences have been obstructed on Thursday as well.

The exams could not take place after agitating dentistry students padlocked the education department and the office of the dean of the examinations a day earlier over suicide by a dentistry student on Tuesday.[break]

Srikant Dangol, a BDS second year student at the institute had committed suicide after the college barred him from taking the exams citing a poor attendance. The BDS exams had begun on Monday.

The agitating students have padlocked the main gate of the college, bringing all dental services to a complete halt. They have demanded a probe into the incident and due compensation to the deceased’s family.

Meanwhile, the agitating students and the college management are holding talks at 11:00 am today to resolve the issue.
