The exams could not take place after agitating dentistry students padlocked the education department and the office of the dean of the examinations a day earlier over suicide by a dentistry student on Tuesday.[break]
Srikant Dangol, a BDS second year student at the institute had committed suicide after the college barred him from taking the exams citing a poor attendance. The BDS exams had begun on Monday.
The agitating students have padlocked the main gate of the college, bringing all dental services to a complete halt. They have demanded a probe into the incident and due compensation to the deceased’s family.
Meanwhile, the agitating students and the college management are holding talks at 11:00 am today to resolve the issue.
